No Nonsense Reviews

Arbonne Product Reviews

By  |

Hi Everyone!

This post has been a long time coming. It’s all entirely my fault! I will take full responsibility for how long it took for this product review to get out there. The lovely Maimie Yelland (here’s her twitter!) contacted me literally what feels like months ago and asked if I would like to try some Arbonne products and that’s where it all went a little wrong…

My po box decided to withhold my package (not sure who they think they are!) for whatever reason and didn’t even think to tell me, so, whilst i was desperately searching for my package from Maimie at Arbonne, it was sitting behind the desk the whole time…

Anyway! it all got resolved, I snatched away my products and dashed off in to the sunset to get this review on the road.

*These products were sent to me but all opinions are my own*

Arbonne Product Reviews

What Is Arbonne?

Arbonne is a Swedish company that manufacturer and produce organic products. They are botanically based, Vegan, Ph correct, Hypoallergenic, Gluten-free, Dermatologist tested, Kosher, Drug Free AND cruelty-free!

They are overall a really pure, clean brand. I watched a video on their website just to get more of an idea about who Arbonne was and they seem to be really ethical and all about giving the cleanest, highest quality products.

Please correct me if I am wrong but, it also seems the sales generated are from different individual representatives. A lot like Avon! I love this idea. It gives normal people a chance to spread a message and earn some cash.

What Did I Receive…?

I received from the wonderful Maimie a ‘purifying cleanser and toner’ and a ‘oil-absorbing day cream’. Before Maimie sent me the testers she did ask me all about my skin type to see what products would benefit me. I really appreciated that because sometimes in this industry people will just send you a product without even asking about you as a person, I am not complaining at all! I just thought it was so nice for someone to actually ask about me...

honest reviews

First Up Under My Analysis Is The Oil-Absorbing Day Lotion! …

arbonne oil absorbing

You apply this day lotion before makeup and after cleansing your face and that is what I did…You only need a small amount to cover your entire face which is great.

I found the lotion sunk in to my skin quite quickly and I did notice my skin feel softer and smoother. I did also notice that my face looked a bit more matte, which is something it boasts about ‘this lightweight moisturizer helps absorb oil and provides sun protection, leaving skin with a fresh, matte appearance‘.

I really liked the smell of this too. I did read some reviews on the day lotion before writing this review and honestly, a lot of people had mixed feelings on the smell. I really liked it and sat sniffing it for a good few minutes…I cannot for the life of me put a finger on the exact smell (surprise surprise!) but it’s a mixture between flowers/sunscreen and freshness, does that help??

The fact that the day lotion has an SPF of 20 made me so happy. I always say to opt for products with an SPF as keeping your skin protected from the sun should be an absolute priority.

I also usually get an oily T-zone during the day and although I wasn’t wearing makeup I didn’t notice any oils building up so, whether that’s down to the oil-absorbing factor or my skin that day, who knows!

What I didn’t Like…

There was a lot I liked as you can see above but, unfortunately there was something I needed to comment on…

The list of ingredients for this product is crazy! I am not going to insert photos or list every ingredient but it did kind of shock me. I am by no means a dermatologist or a skincare professional so, what am I to know? but, i honestly never knew how many products could go in to something so ‘pure’.

I obviously don’t understand what the majority of the ingredients are and I am probably 100% wrong but, it did slightly concern me that the list was so long. However, Arbonne do stand for something so ethical and lovely that it would be wrong for me to pull them up on something I don’t even really understand…

Next Up Is The Purifying Cleanser And Toner!

toner and cleanser

I am a sucker for cleansers and toners (which you would know if you read my peaches and clean review!). This was the product I was most excited to try.

Combined with our other ingredients, this soothing blend helps balance and normalize oily/combination skin. The toner balances the skin’s pH level, and helps moisturize and prepare skin for other products’.

I used this product at night, right after I had finished my usual skincare ritual. I was amazed at how a small blob of this cleanser actually went such a long way, usually I need a good few squeezes before I am satisfied, ( it’s quite possible I just have an abnormally large face!).

It’s meant to balance out the oils in your skin and make you feel matte and fresh. As i said before, a small blob went a long way and it does start to create a small foam around the face that you wash off. My skin did look clean but…I am afraid i am going to have to talk about it below…

It smells just like the day lotion which I love and left me feeling ‘clean’ but again..I did have a small little con..

What I Didn’t Like…

It just didn’t make my skin feel that much different. Yes, it was smooth and felt clean and lovely but, it just wasn’t as cleansing as I thought it was going to be..Perhaps I used to little or didn’t leave it on for long enough, i don’t know.

Overall?

Overall, I did really like these two products. I know i had a small con with the list of ingredients and that the cleanser didn’t really make a huge difference but, the smell and the quality of the Arbonne products are great.

I still haven’t noticed any oils in my T-zone and this is my second day using the products so, if you do suffer from oily skin and want something pure and organic then Arbonne might be for you. I know you are meant to give them a few days trial so, perhaps tonight will be a different story with the cleanser and toner. I am not saying it wasn’t good, it just wasn’t amazing.

I also want to say a HUGE thank you to Maimie for sending me these products and a huge apology for them taking so long in actually getting to me!
