Sally Hansen – Nail Growth/Cure/Strengthener Review

I only recently became obsessed with my nails. Believe it or not about 5 months ago my nails were brittle, broken and teeny weeny. I have naturally been blessed with ‘not very strong’ nails but, a lot of it came down to my diet and how I wasn’t helping them out whatsoever.

I took the initiative and decided to stop biting them (yes, ew I know!!!) and bought some Stop biting nail varnish. Once my nails started to grow it gave me the incentive to love them again so, I of course went and bought various nail colors to enjoy and of course some Sally Hansen ‘miracle’ nail varnishes.

I love Sally. I really do. I’ve seen my mum use her products for years so, she must be good right?

Well, below I am going to review  a few of her nail products that I purchased a few months ago and tell you what I honestly thought about them.

Like I said my nails were brittle, they never grew so, Sally didn’t have a lot to work with when I started using her. However, after reading hundreds of reviews about her ‘Nailgrowth Miracle’ I decided to give her a go. Let’s just say I was pleasantly surprised.

I truly felt my nails were growing, they still weren’t strong but, they were growing for the first time in god knows how long! I have since re-purchased this stuff because it really did it’s job, I absolutely love it.

This stuff i’m not so sure. It works, it does make it harder for your nails to split which is obviously its job but, I can’t help but be a little disappointed with it. You may ask ‘But Lauren, it did its job why are you sad with it?’ well reader, I just felt for the price it wasn’t what I expected.

It was good and lasts for ages but, it chipped a little and made it hard for me not to pick it. Which is something I was really trying not to do.

This Sally Hansen product will forever be my bae. I love it. I use it every single time I paint my nails and I still haven’t ran out, it’s getting a little sticky now but, I have had it so long and used it so much i’m surprised it’s not in a worse state.

This stuff truly works for me, it dries so quickly for a base coat and lasts for ages. It doesn’t chip, it doesn’t smudge, it’s just an all round awesome product especially for the price.

When somebody says ‘diamonds’ you think of wonderful things, it’s also good advertising on Sally’s part as obviously diamonds are super hard and fabulous like your nails will be after using this product.

Now, I bought the Diamond Strength product for my mum and she did eventually let me use it. I can’t lie and say it was the best product ever because, it wasn’t. It did good, it certainly felt like my nails were stronger and less breakable but, it did chip which made me need to re-apply it every day.

Overall, it was a good product, it did its job, it’s not expensive but it did make me work for it…

The reason I bought the ‘Pen’ instead of continuing to just use the nail polish was because a few months ago I worked in a job where I could not be seen with one spec of nail varnish anywhere near my hands. Had I used the clear polishes above I would of been in a lot of trouble so, I resorted to this ‘pen’.

I wasn’t expecting miracles but, it was pretty awesome. It softens your cuticles to encourage nail growth, its super discreet for work or school and it’s a lot easier to apply if you don’t like wearing nail polish!

I did like this product because it did 4 different things and I felt like I was getting a good deal. It is a ridge filler, a strengthener a growth treatment and a glossy top coat.

Obviously with so many things to do it has to lack in one are and I didn’t feel like it was a fantastic strengthener in fact I didn’t notice any strength differences but it did live up to expectations for everything else!

I noticed my nails grow, it was an amazing top coat and all round good nail polish.
