What I Use To…Smell Good

By  |

Nobody wants to smell bad, but sometimes something can go a little wrong and you can smell bad, really bad. I however have an irrational fear of smelling bad, I use to go to very extreme lengths to stop the process of even beginning to turn a little sour.

For me as a teenager it was hard trying not to work up a sweat because, I grew up in Spain. So, trying to master not smelling bad whilst trying to work out and be a teenager in the blistering heat was quite difficult.

Luckily however, I did work it all out. I know how to keep myself smelling fresh! You’re probably thinking ‘but you learn how to smell good easily, how have you only just mastered it?’ well my friend, clearly you don’t have the same smelly fear I do, I needed proof and evidence and baby I got it.

1 #  Shower Daily

This may seem like an obvious tip to start with but, it really does make the difference. I don’t mean wash your hair everyday cause, girl that’s bad but, jump in and out every day to just keep yourself feeling and smelling fresh.

It will literally take two minutes to just soap up your body and wash it off again, you can even put your hair in a shower cap, like this one here .

2 # Good Quality

A good quality shower gel really makes a big impact on your overall ‘smell’. Use something you know is good for your skin and overall hygiene. I love Soap & Glory and always use the one above in the shower but, it doesn’t limit you to just that.

Soap is one of the most well known products to help you smelling good. I like to use Dove just because it’s gentle on my skin and I can buy a big pack which means I can use one on my face, one in the shower and keep two in the cupboard for when the others run out.

With the soap I like to apply it after I have used my shower gel and just really clean the areas of my body I just don’t feel are too fresh. Just make sure you wash it off properly and you will notice a huge difference in your odor.

4 # Deo

Once you’re out the shower and nice and dry, I apply my deodorant. I don’t like spray deodorants, I never feel like they work for me. I also apply far too much and always end up with white armpits. I apply around 2-3 wipes of this deodorant and get dressed.

This deodorant has always, always worked for me and I also have super sensitive underarms and I have never had any issues.

Extra Tips ‘N’ Tricks

  • I like  to carry some wet wipes in my handbag just for when I work up a sweat or start to feel a little grubby and I can just wipe myself down and re-apply some deodrant.

  • I also carry some miniature perfumes around with me. I like to spritz myself every few hours just to make sure I still smell good! (told you I had a complex)

  • If I feel like my hairs a little greasy or even just not cooperating with me it’s always handy to have a mini little dry shampoo in your bag. It’s easy to pull out and just spritz all over your hair!
